Summer Days

My perfume is

the sticky sheen of white lotion

that smells like summer plastic.

My song is

the slap of crystal waves

against rocky sand cement.

My time is

the trek of a yellow glare sun

across an expanse of blue, blue, blue.

My company is

the crack of spines pulled open

and the black words that fill the pages.
