Afternoon Commute

We chase the sun, its setting painting the sky ephemeral pinks and warm oranges. Bulbous white clouds tower over the horizon, requiring a double take to make sure they aren’t really mountains. Cars crawl along cement that floats across a patchy silver blue lake and yellow house lights wink in the distance. It’s all a science – which exit to take, which turn is best – to avoid that red brake light pile up.
